Marvel Studios Officially Announces the Complete Cast of ‘Avengers: Doomsday

Marvel Studios took a unique approach to unveiling the confirmed cast for Avengers: Doomsday, keeping fans on edge with a slow-burn livestream reveal. Instead of dropping all the names at once, the studio chose to showcase each cast member’s chairback every ten minutes, a move that built suspense but also tested the patience of many eager viewers.

Confirmed Cast Members for Avengers: Doomsday

The first name revealed was Chris Hemsworth, followed by Vanessa Kirby, Anthony Mackie, and Sebastian Stan. Shortly after, Letitia Wright joined the lineup, reaffirming her role as Princess Shuri, the Black Panther. Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man was also confirmed, alongside a surprising addition—Wyatt Russell’s US Agent, John Walker. Marvel fans got another unexpected name with Tenoch Huerta Mejia’s Namor, adding to the excitement.

Continuing the reveals, Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s The Thing entered the mix, alongside the MCU’s best hand-to-hand combat expert, Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi. The Thunderbolts were also well-represented, with Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova and Lewis Pullman making the cut. Danny Ramirez’s Falcon returned as well, along with Joseph Quinn, David Harbour, and Winston Duke as M’Baku. The list continued with Hannah John-Kamen reprising her role as Ghost, signaling that she will indeed survive Thunderbolts.

Legendary X-Men Join the MCU in Avengers: Doomsday

Given the multiversal theme of the film, it wouldn’t have been complete without Tom Hiddleston’s Loki, now officially titled the God of the Multiverse following Loki Season 2. However, the biggest surprises came when Marvel brought in several legendary X-Men actors. The iconic Patrick Stewart will reprise his role as Professor Charles Xavier, and in an even more exciting turn, Sir Ian McKellen returns as Magneto! The surprises didn’t end there—Alan Cumming is back as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, and thankfully, James Marsden will once again portray Cyclops (hopefully with a better storyline than in the Fox films).

But perhaps the most shocking name on the list? Channing Tatum as Gambit—a role that has been stuck in development limbo for years. Fans had long speculated about whether Tatum would ever get to play the fan-favorite mutant, and now it’s finally happening. Another unsurprising but exciting addition is Pedro Pascal as Mr. Fantastic, officially joining the MCU’s growing roster.

Of course, the biggest name to be announced was none other than Robert Downey Jr., who will be portraying Doctor Doom—one of the most iconic villains in Marvel history.

Avengers: Doomsday – A Dream Crossover Finally Coming to Life

While the livestream reveal was an ambitious way to build anticipation, many fans found the pacing frustrating. The slow reveal felt unnecessarily drawn out, leaving some viewers wishing for a more straightforward announcement. As some have humorously noted, “this could have been an email.”

Nevertheless, as a lifelong Marvel fan, seeing The Avengers, The Fantastic Four, and the X-Men share the big screen is a dream come true. This is a cinematic event that many never imagined would happen, and despite the slow reveal, the excitement surrounding Avengers: Doomsday is undeniable.

Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the May 2026 release of this highly anticipated film!
